Sexual Health - Men board

Quote from ScottR:
I've been suffering from PE for about a year now, and it is definitely ruining the sex life in my relationship. My question is: In order to recieve a prescription for an antidepressant to help treat PE, would I go see my normal physician, or would I need to go speak to a psychiatrist? Thanks for help.

Many primary care physicians will prescribe anti-depressants. In some cases, they may not, but could recommend a psychiatrist to you. It is worth going to the PCP anyway just to be sure that something else is not going on that is causing the PE.

Just a data point for you -- I am a 53 year old married male and, due to high blood pressure, have started using Cialis for ED. One unexpected side effect of that has been PE (where I never had that issue before). Anyway, use of Trojan extended pleasure condoms has helped that for my wife and I, but it does show that there can be many things causing PE.

Good luck...
