Discussions that mention cialis

Sexual Dysfunction Treatment board

The same exact thing happened with my husband after two and a half years of steady use of Viagra. He also tried the 100 mg. with no better results. He also tried Levitra and Cialis (neither one worked). Now he's experimenting with injections but not great success. I have no explanation for the sudden drop-off in effectiveness, however, I have seen it mentioned in medical literature.
Update. I continue to take the Viagra, and continue to have problems maintaining an erection during sex. No problem getting an erection, just keeping it for more than 10 minutes or so. I've upped the dosage to 100 mg., but still there are problems.
As I indicated earlier, 50 mg. of Viagra worked fine for more than four years, but now (since late this spring) it's not doing the trick. Is there some reason to believe that Cialis or Levitra would be any better? I mean, are there studies showing that switching drugs might help? Should I consult a certain type of doctor for this problem?
Thanks.

Leo46,

After Viagra started failing, my husband tried both Levitra and Cialis. Neither one worked. He then went to a urologist who is currently treating him. He's been trying injections (they don't hurt) without a great deal of success. He's also tried injections and Viagra at the same time. He's also tried two different strengths of injections. All with the same result (only a semi-erection). He has another appt. with urologist Mon. to see if an even stronger dose will help.

A urologist is the doctor to see for this type of problem.
Thanks, Piano. I'm using up the Viagra now, with mixed results.
I nearly always take (chew up) a 100 mg. pill now at about 4:30 PM, on an empty stomach. Then my wife and I dive into bed at 5:30 or so, and have round one. Round two comes later in the evening.
Last Wednesday, round one was kind of a flop, as I felt my penis going soft after only a few minutes following penetration, so I hurried up and finished off in less than five minutes. Hardly satisfying for my wife or me, although I did oral on her 'til she orgasmed beforehand. In sharp contrast to 6 months ago when I could go a half hour or more after foreplay, I came in about 4 minutes. Round two, however, which as usual on Viagra days is at about 10 PM, was great, just like it used to be. Finger stimulation of my wife resulting in her orgasms, then a good solid (pun intended) 15-20 minutes of penetration. I don't understand what's going on. I don't think it's low testosterone, as I get nighttime and morning wood on a regular basis. Probably in my head at this stage, so maybe last week's round two portends better outcomes, so to speak.
Will do it again tonight. If there are still problems after I finish this bottle (about 8 pills left), I may see the doctor and get a Rx for some other ED med, possibly Cialis. Not sure a visit to the urologist would help, but I'll try anything that might work.

[QUOTE=zekelmouden;3090003]Hi LEO!
I'had a similar situation with viagra after 2 years and a half. I upgraded to 100 mg it worked for a few times then nothing. My doctor advised to switch to levitra and after 2 trials it started working very well. So if you are healthy you can try levitra 10 and if no significant result increase dose to 20 mg once every 24 hours.
Good Luck!

I use cialis and levitra 20mg alternatively for almost half an year and the drugs showing diminishing effect until recently they stop working. I suppose there should be time limit for using this drugs; since the body will find a way to get rid of these PDE5 inhibitors, but don't think that they will lose effect so soon. Oops! those ED drugs are short term fixing of your problems, that's the truth!
