Discussions that mention clonazepam

Back Problems board

Good question. One that's been on my mind a lot lately. I'm 43, can I look forward to a future of forever being in a fog because of the drugs I need to take to control the pain? Doctor felt I was taking too many T 3's so he upped my Neurontin to 2800 mg. a day. I make it clear to him at the time that if it made me any "stupider" I wouldn't take it. I find it lowers by IQ by about 40 points...really bottoms me out some days - lol. I forget total conversations according to my family. I also take oxybutin for my bladder that was compromised and damaged when my disc ruptured, along with Effexor and clonazepam.

I don't have the answers. Wish I did. I am going to ask for a referral to another neurosurgeon. Because one said I had reached "maximum medical recovery", your only looking forward to your back getting worse because of the degenerative disc disease, does that mean that advances haven't been made or maybe something can be done to help the pain? Have to get my doctor on line with that one when I meet with him on Monday. I go with a list and we go through it. He expects it. We plan for a one hour visit. This guy is incredible.

Here'e hoping your all have some pain free moments.
