sounds an awful lot like jock itch (notice the tinactin benefit).

walmart sells a antifungal that seems to work pretty well for me. the active ingredient is clotrimazole.

if this is successful, once you get this under control, you might try a bath once a week with a cap or two of bleach in the water. that also seems to help get rid of the jock itch, especially in areas you may have missed with the cream.

don't do the bleach while you have an active rash or you will jump out of the water real fast.

The one thing I have not sought from a doc is an oral fungicide. That may give a more complete treatment but the others have been successful to date so I continue with self help.

Thanks. Well it would seem like it should, so I tried it again. Put just a bit on half of one area the was red and the skin had peeled off. It instantly burned and turned beet red, and the redness was still there the next day until I washed it off.

I know. Strange.
