Neuropathy board

I was scared at first to take any narcotics due to the high rate of addiction. But the pain is just so bad at times that you feel like you would do just about anything to relieve it. After talking with my GP, he said he felt the chance of my becoming psychologically addicted was low and tapering off would solve any physical addiction.

After trying several things, I am now on Combunox 5/400 when I need them. I almost always have to take one in the morning now and most nights. Some days I have had to take one in the afternoon too. They work pretty good and last about 8 hours.

I wouldn't compare myself to what others take though. Everyone has different tolerances to meds. My husband will be knocked out for days if he takes any kind of narcotic. My brother had back surgery and had to take some heavy duty narcotics as nothing else worked. Two extreme cases but just to show you how differently people will react to narcotics.

Inpayne, this board is great for when you're feeling down. Everyone here understands the pain and the frustration of trying to live with chronic pain and trying to find the right treatment. For me, it was a relief to find this board where I can get support and allso information on treatments. I hope you will post again.
