High & Low Blood Pressure board

Hi,

I've been on a roller coaster since January with this, although I had hypertension 10 years ago while pregant and had some isolated hypertensive episodes. Here's my drug list.

January- started with Benicar and ended up in the hospital with racing heartbeat

January-March - Topral XL 25 mg: It worked, but I could barely exercise, had episodes of shortness of breath ( my doctor thinks that it was panic attacks (hormone fluctuations), but I think it was the Topral), numb fingers and toes, "out of it" feeling, palpitations, gastrointestinal problems, waking in the night, nightmares, etc.

Mid March: I finally convinced my doctor to get me off Topral.
Corgard: I took this 10 years ago with no problem, but this time I had the numb fingers and toes, I felt that my aerobic capacity shrunk to practically nothing...more episodes of shortness of breath (VERY SCAREY)
I told my doctor that I thought that it was the meds and not "panic" and I said I wanted to try something that would help my heart rate without tiring me out. So he prescribed Cardizem.

Meanwhile, I'm weaning off Corgard and most of my pressures are normal. However, my pulse seems to race at night and if I lie down. My pulse is usually high in the morning.
When I took 1/4 of a Corgard I had more borderline pressures 130/90. etc. and one night I kept waking up and my pressure was high 140/100.

So, that brings me to today...I don't know if I should continue with a very low dosage of Corgard (10 mg) supplements and lifestyle changes or if I should try the Cardizem.

Any ideas?
