High & Low Blood Pressure board

Hi Beth,

When I got carpel tunnel last June I had to severely limit any use of my hands/fingers for 6 months so I have been limiting my typing. The boards I have been on didn't allow too many words & no paragraphs. I still get CT if I do too much.

Don't get too stressed out by Dr's; it just goes with the territory in regard to getting your health needs addressed.
After 4 yrs & about 12 different Dr's for various aspects of HBP, I'm getting used to it. The gems (Sleep study Doc, thyroid docs etc) make up for the less than patient friendly ones.
My knee pain from Cozaar was like getting a electrical shock. It was elicited by movement. I still don't see it as a allergic reaction but that's what my Dr. said. The allergist I saw one year later said it was a hypersensitivy reaction.

Juicing. Dr. Dean like juicing because one can get a lot of veggies/fruits in at once. He disgards most of the fiber so he doesn't get filled up. I wouldn't be able to handle all the fiber because of my slow stomach emptying & hiatal hernia. Juicing would be good for my husband since he doesn't eat many vegetables. Dr. Dean seems to think he gets most of the vitamins & minerals with the juice not in the fiber. We have to do what works for our lifestyle. My youngest son drinks a whole quart of V-8 every once in a while when he starts not feeling well instead of eating some veggies everyday. Fam
Hello Fam,

Thanks for your response...as usual, you give me much to think about!

Yes, to some extent that is true--my sleep doctor and obgyn are superduper! I currently see a family practioner for my bp, but after some consideration I have decided to find a different doctor. Several friends in the health field concur with my decision. My current doctor apparently is not well versed in cardiovasculer medicine nor in medication hypersensitivity (which seems to be how I react to meds) so I want to see someone with a different knowledge base and a wider variety of experience.

I have just been made aware that the difference between allergic reactions (which are caused by immune responses) and side effects are being debated in the health care field. For that reason, the terms may be interchangable, and some health care workers are avoiding either term and simply describing the symptom(s) as being an adverse reaction.

Yes, this is quite true. And yes, we do have to do what works for our lifestyle. That's why "juicing" appeals to me but I have to experiment with some new "recipes". :) I eat far more fruits and vegetables when I put them in the blender...it's faster and easier to do that than to cook!

PS Oh, I found those dyes you were mentioning. Very, very interesting.
