High Cholesterol board

Hi everyone. I'm an old poster, but on another subject. I've been taking Crestor for about a month now and I can hardly walk. I have pain in my upper thighs/front to my pelvis and then pains in my back, arms, etc. I took Lipitor in the past, first started on 10 mg and then they shot me up to 20 mg. and I got muscle pain with that too. I'm taking 120mg a day with crestor but it seems not to be doing a thing to help. I am going to stop taking this. Is there anything else that works for high cholesterol without taking a statin? Help!

I thought the maximum recommended dose was 40mg ... . I agree that stopping the Crestor is a good idea. IMO, the guideline cholesterol targets are far too low. What are your cholesterol numbers?

Hi Mark. No, it's 120 mg. of CQ10. The Crestor is 10 mg. and I stopped it for now. I started taking msm/combo and waiting for it to kick in. My cholesterol was horrible, don't have any current readings. Time for blood work again.,
