Discussions that mention cyclobenzaprine

Hi,

I take 10 mg of flexeril generic (cyclobenzaprine) 3-4 times a day. It is the only med that allows me to get any sort of decent sleep and have tried just about everything else and this is the only one that doesn't give me side effects or simply not work, which tends to be my bodies issue with all meds. It is also very helpful with the muscle spasms but doesn't stop them completely. When I am able to have massage or accupunture regularly it is very complementary and am able to keep things down to a dull roar.

Almost forgot, I do have one side effect,...it makes it hard to pee....weird I know, but all that relaxing also relaxes the muscles for going to the bathroom like a normal person. What is "normal" anyway? ;) Wouldn't trade it for anything, can't imagine going back to things the way they were before flexeril.

Good Luck!!! and ((((Hugs))))

I have been taking the generic flexeril, cyclobenzaprine, for over a year now. It really helps with the tightness and spasms in my neck and jaw. My jaw and neck used to be so locked up all the time!

I also take generics of ultram for regular FM pains and neurontin for nerve pains due to cancer surgery. Besides these, I take metformin for diabetes and asprin due to a previous blood clot in my leg.

I take 20 mg at night and I usually sleep 7 hours straight. I take Uroxitrol for urinary retention. It is for men really for enlarged prostrate. But I take it and it works great. I have had problems with my bladder not emptying all the way and then peeing every 15 minutes and its hard to go. Not anymore. And i don't have to get up at 5 am to pee. I have the bladder problem regardless of the flexeril, but it does exaserbate it i'm sure. I don't think i could take flexeril during the day because I think it would make me too tired. My bladder shut down when i was on amiltriptaline. I had to have a cath. and a bag tied to my leg. yuck. I went to the pp doc and he sent me to a neuro and there was PDR in the patient room and i looked up the med and sure enough it caused urinary retention. Got off it, and I could pee again. I think it relaxes the bowels too, in my opinion.
