Discussions that mention demerol

Cancer: Colon board

So my appointment is in the morning.. I have been on a clear liquid all day.. and just recently at 4:00 pm I started my prep with the 1.5 oz. of phospho goodness.

The dr.'s office called to confirm that I don't take any heart medication or blood thinners today.. I thought i'd take the chance to ask them if they use any pain killers.. and they just said they use versed and demerol... so thank goodness they use demerol.. hopefully it works good!

This fleet phospho stuff is no joke.. took it about 30 minutes ago and now it's time to start the cleanse....will update after the procedure!
Wow, so that was easy!

I go in and get situated, get my IV in place, then they roll me into a room with two big monitors in it, I remember looking over and seeing the scope and thinking "that's a little bigger than an index finger!" haha... my heart was racin and I admitted to being terrified. The Doc comes in and says hi, then asks a few questions like "who's here to pick you up?" and "how old are you again?" All the while I knew he was just trying to distract me because I could see him putting the versed and demerol into my IV...right after injecting he just said, "your going to feel this pretty quick.." Then he gave me the most evil smile ever smiled (but in a humorous way..) I attempted to ask one more question about how long he thought it would take, but mid-way through the question I was GONE.. much like everyone else, I woke up wondering when we were going to start...

I was out the entire time and don't have any recollection of anything. Whatever cocktail they made up for my 6'4" 330lb. body worked tremendously...

I guess he didn't find anything but for some reason he took a biopsy of something... do they take biopsy's even if they don't remove polyps or anything? I'm supposed to follow up in a week.

Just concerned why they would take something out of me if he said I was fine.

Oh well.. all in all, wouldn't be afraid to do it again. Thanks for the support all!

Glad everything went well. As far as the biopsy maybe there was just something that look a little different, and since his is already there why not have that extra certainty the everything is ok. In my case in was cancer and I had my colonoscopy on a Friday and received aphone call around 8:00 am the following Monday. If it was anything bad you would have heard by now.IMHO
You will be fine
