Discussions that mention diazepam

In most states, hydrocodone is a Schedule III and Valium (diazepam) is a Schedule IV.

As for getting them refilled early...That is clearly a touchy subject! If you are going out of town and need them while you're traveling, your pharmacist may be able to help you out--IF IT IS WITHIN REASON. But, going through 30 hydrocodone pills in 2-3 days isn't going to go over well with the pharmacist or the prescribing doctor.

As well, if you have the good fortune of having insurance, they often will not pay for the Rx if you get it filled too early.

The bottom line comes down to your relationships with your doctor and pharmacist. If you are an extremely reliable patient who has been a consistent, honest, truthful patient for a long time--they can probably help you out if an emergency arises (or even if you're going on a trip and will be away when it is time for the refill).

I have one doctor and I use the same pharmacy--I have for years. So, they help me out. Since I singlehandedly keep the pharmacy financially solvent, they are always helpful!!

Good luck on your needs.
