I think 6 months is standard. That's what I did. In 6 months the microcalcifications had increased so they did a surgical biopsy and removed them. It turns out it was DCIS with clear margins. I am seeing my oncologist next week to see what is next. In 2001 I had a lumpectomy in other breast for LCIS. I did not have to have radiation or chemo, just Tamoxifen for 5 yr and now on Femara. If the calcifications were only detected through mamo, that means they are small and usually benign. Good luck to you and try not to worry even though I know it is hard.
