Discussions that mention flonase

Allergies board

Hello. the other day, I visited my doctor about my nose being clogged very bad. He told me that it was a bad case of allergies, and told me to take Afrin, along with an Allegra pill and flonase. I looked up the side effects of Afrin, and got the same thing from basically every website :

Blurred vision; fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeat; headache, dizziness, drowsiness, or lightheadedness; high blood pressure; nervousness; trembling; trouble in sleeping; weakness.

The thing I was most concerned about was weakness. They were very brief on their description. I wasnt sure if they ment muscle weakness, or weakness as in loss of energy. I am very conscious about taking medicion that can result in muscular weakness. I work hard to keep my muscles in good shape, and it would be a drag if i lost progress due to a medicine. If anybody could help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
Those are long term effects and no one should use Afrin for more than a few days. It can be very addictive and very bad long term. You could use it for a few days to get help get your allergies under control and then I suggest just using a saline spray like Ayr. Or you could just use the saline spray. Be sure to use it before the flonase and blow everything out. Then the flonase and don't blow.
