Discussions that mention fluoxetine

Right guys, I went to the docs, we don't have no real great relationship, she's the kinda doc that your in and out and it's finished

She said with your costant use of X and Pot, your mind is blurred and you might never feel the same, you might have to live with it, I told her about the Serotonin levels going down etc, she said it's true and asked me if i'm depressed, for which I replied "of course i am", she went on to prescribe me "Fluoxetine 20mg"

Anyone got info on these? She put me on for 2 weeks, said that I won't feel the full effects for 2 weeks, first I would feel very down but then it will make me feel better, but I don't know whether to try these, I'm on other meds for my Acne, do they mix? Anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance :)
Hi, I know this thread is a little old, but I just wanted to chime in. Forgive me if I am repeating what others have already said as I just skimmed through this thread. I haven't had a chance to post in awhile and this caught my eye.

First, fluoxetine is prozac, an SSRI.

Also, when I was in detox they said that X does cause permanent brain damage and they also said that the younger you are when you do any type of drug the more permanent alterations to your brain chemistry can occur. Sounds like the original poster is off the X, but if you need any further encouragement, please keep this in mind.

BTW, prozac has helped me alot, though I gradually went up to 80 mg to reach a therapeutic effect. I don't know anything about the zoloft vs. prozac for treating X rationale, but sometimes they don't really know why--sometimes the different SSRI's will just have a little different effect.

luv,
