Lasix (furosemide), for being a very cheap drug, really works SO well with edema.
Probably the only precaution, especially if taking larger doses, is to make sure you supplement potassium and regularly monitor your uric acid.

I recommend you try it.

With lasix you can limit your salt AND take the diuretic. With thiazides, I'd do one or the other but not both because it's too easy to get hyponatremic.

Anyone taking lasix for edema will be taking it at least twice a day, probably 3 times because it's very short acting.
