Hello :) For one year now i have been taking mtx, prednisone and plaquinil. I have just started adding humira ( two months now ) and i'm showing little improvment. My dr. is thinking of starting me on Embril instead. Does anyone have experience with either of these meds. ? Thanks;)
I have been on humira for 12 weeks with little improvement. My doctor wants to keep me on it for a few more weeks because it can take several months to make a difference. I have not used embrel so can't help you there. Hope you get to feeling better.
I've been on both Humira and Enbrel. I'm currently on a double dose of Humira (weekly). I think the two drugs work comparably to each other. It can take a long time for symptoms to improve. I'm actually on a break from the Humira due to possible MS, which can be exacerbated by the biologic drugs. good luck.

I have been on both Humira and Enbrel prior to moving to Remicaid--I was lucky and both of them worked right away for me. The Remicaid took much longer to work and after 8 months they are still working on the right dose and time span---
I've tried everything for severe psoriatic arthritis. I also have osteoarthritis. I tried prednisone, methotrexate, Humira, and Remicade. None of them worked. My arthritis is in my neck, spine, hips and all of my joints. My ribs hurt so bad it hurt to breathe. My SI joints really hurt to the point of hardly being able to walk. I was sick all the time because I'd catch everything with a lower resistance.
Finally my doctor tried Enbrel. With in a month the horrible fatigue was gone. My pain went from a 9 to a 5. I never get sick anymore. I used to get a cold and be in bed so sick for two and a half weeks. I'd need a doctor's visit and antibiotics, sometimes IV's. Not anymore. I'm so much better. I give myself injections 2x per week. Hope this helps someone.:)
I also did very well on Enbrel.

I think the Enbrel shots sting less than the Humira. My doctor said they may have different pH levels.

Good luck!!!
