Hmmnn....it surprises me that there aren't a lot of responses to your question. I was going through something similar and discovered it was STRESS. The word is overused, but it is real. I found some remedies on the Internet--take a look. One thing that helped me the most was to first, put some hydrocortisone on the itcy places. Then, I would breathe slowly and tell my mind to relax. Another thing that helped sometimes was to just place a little bit of pressure on the spot, rather than scratching like mad. While placing slight pressure, I would breathe and tell myself to calm down, relax and enjoy just being. It's weird, but once I found out that it was stress and that my body was not falling apart, the episodes became more and more infrequent. Good luck.
