Discussions that mention lanoxin

suzieq, what new medicines is your mom taking?

Over the past 6 or 7 years, I've had increasing frequency of afib attacks. Before my last attack (now 8 months ago), I was taking coumadin, an ACE inhibitor, calcium channel blocker, a couple of blood pressure medicines, lanoxin (digitalis) and Coreg, a beta blocker which is used in congestive heart failure.

So eight months ago, my cardiologist put me on sotalol (Betapace), a beta blocker used to stop afib attacks, and took me off lanoxin and Coreg.

I haven't had any major problems being suddenly removed from Coreg and lanoxin and being put on sotalol. However, it has slowed my heart to about 45 bpm, and I'd be less than candid to say it hasn't had an effect on me, chief of which is that I tire more easily than before. However, I still do whatever I want. And quite importantly, haven't had an afib attack since.
