Discussions that mention lisinopril

High & Low Blood Pressure board

NTBT, I've had just about every test run that's available. I've seen a GP, an allergist, and a dermatologist. After all kinds of testing and bloodwork, they've determined it's idiopthathic and will hopefully, at some point, disappear as quickly as it presented itself. I'm not nearly as bad as I was in the beginning.

FG, my readings are not episodes -- my bp readings have been low (for me) anytime of the day for about 2 months now. I feel fine (except for the occasionaly itchies!)

Currently, I'm taking 50 mg atenolol 2/day, 20 mg lisinopril in the morning, and 25 mg HCTZ in the AM. The atenolol and lisinopril are now half the dose I'd been taking for years. I'm thinking about cutting my diuretic in half and seeing what happens.

Ultimately, I'll have to see my GP, but I want to mess around with my meds (carefully) before returning to him.

I did read somewhere on these boards where someone's mother took bp meds for ten years (age 60-70) and then no longer needed them. Our bodies do change as we age, and I'm no spring chicken! (Just turned 65)
