Discussions that mention lorazepam

High & Low Blood Pressure board

Hello,

I am new here and am more than a little concerned about my high blood pressure. I am 39 year old female who was diagnosed about 3 years ago with high blood pressure.

I was on Verapamil for a while and it didn't help so now my new doctor (I moved to another state and have a wonderful doctor for all of my diagnosis') put me on Lisinopril 20mg once per day.

Due to some other problems I have, I went in for an injection the other day (specialist) and my blood pressure reading, having taken my bp med and 1/2 Lorazepam, was 192/110.

Every time I go to see my doctor, my blood pressure is still around 158/98 and I am getting very scared. Especially after reading some of the horror stories here.

My diagnosis is as follows: (via mri tests) bulging discs in cervical and lumbar regions of back, beginning of osteoporosis, pinched nerves/stenosis in cervical region, bone spurring in cervical region, Fibromyalgia (severe), arthritis (via x-rays), high blood pressure, chronic pain.

Is there anyone who has had this similar problem with keeping their pressure down even with medication who could suggest something that might be helpful? I have an appointment with my doctor on Tuesday to discuss the possibilities of disability due to having such a painful condition coupled with high blood pressure and I feel I need to try something else for my hbp, either different or on top of what I am already using, because the Lisinopril isn't working on its own. I have been on it for four months now.

I'd really appreciate your thoughts and comments.

Thank you.
