Me too, 8 weeks PLIF at L4/L5 and still having leg nerve pain (but taking nothing for it, as I had severe adverse reactions to Neuontin/Lyrica). Also in last two weeks, I have had increased sciatic pain on both sides. But I also have a bulging disc at L5/S1 that was not fused, and might possibly causing the sciatic issues now. Doc says too early to tell anything right now, with the fusion just being done, so wants me to give it more time before we start delving more into it. He told me not to throw in the towel yet.

I start PT on monday, and he also just put me back on anti-inflammatories now.. so I am back on the celebrex. I hope these work, cuz I have a new job about to begin pretty soon, and if this gets in the way.. i'm the past tense of screw. I just went back to work part-time two days.. and it's definitely an adjustment.. plus a long car ride over 1.25 hr drive each way. Yesterday.. I used my soft ice pack on my upper back and neck on the way home.. really helped ease the tension there, as those muscles haven't been used this way in a over 7 weeks, so it's an adjustment for them.

We are gonna be the typical ones, that this is just gonna take some time to heal. I don't know about you, but the first two weeks, I thought I was going to be one of the instantly cured ones that has no pain and just whizzes on with life. But reality set in.. and here I am. Oh well, I will get through this like I have been since this all started 3 years ago.

Hope you are all doing alright today, and that things are progressingly getting better for everyone. See ya at next post! Tammy
I had the same surgery on april 11 and had horrible nerve pain after it. I had burning, shooting pink and severe muscle spasms . the doc told me"the retractor pulled back your nerves. the nerves are swollen .it could tke up to 6 months for the swelling to go down." in the mean time I took lyrica 300mg and it helped a lot. Or neuroton . ask the doc about his,or a neurologist. I certianly sounds like what is wrong.
