Discussions that mention lyrica

Back Problems board

:) Hi everyone,

I know its been a while since i have posted, but I wanted to let you all know how I am doing. I guess the most important thing I want to tell you is that I have weaned myself completely off of lyrica and do not have any nerve pain. Just this weekend my pain medication was changed from Hydrocone 10 to Hydrocone 7.5. I am doing well on the lower dose, thank goodness. I am still working. This is my fourth week back at work and I have not had to miss a day yet.

I did trade in my beloved firebird on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was way too hard on my back getting in out of the firebird. I love my Jeep. It is so much easier to get in and out and overall just to drive. I can't believe I waited so long to do this.

I still have pain everyday but it is tolerable. I still have more energy now that I have had in at least two years and I truly believe it is because I am not in as much pain as I was before the fusion. I will be starting physical therapy at a therapy place soon. My doctor has had me doing the excercises on my own but I don't feel comfortable doing them without someone guiding me.

I am still trying to loose the weight that I put on after my surgery. I gain about 15 pounds after surgery. So far I have lost about 5, I think. I think that being off of the lyrica is really going to help me take the weight off. At least I hope so anyway. Getting my walking in is really hard after a long day at work but I am trying.

Pepper: I have been keeping up with you through your posts and I am really sorry that you are going through more pain than before. At least you know what it is that is causing the pain and have a plan in place to take care of it. Someone at school told me the other day that they felt sorry for me. I said "don't feel sorry for me. There are other people that are a lot worse off than me and I'm think I'm doing fine." So, I won't say that I feel sorry for you because it upsets me when people say it to me. I'm just sorry that this happened to such a good strong person that deserves to have painless days. Just wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Shawley: I have been trying to keep up with you. I know that you have had some appts lately and I hope you are finding some answers to your problems.

I apologize to everyone for not replying to posts but I am back in full swing and most of the time I'm just too tired. But know that I am keeping up with you all and you are all in my thoughts. I hope everyone is having painfree days and nights.

Ollie :D
