Back Problems board

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if any other fellow back pain sufferers have gone to Dynamic Physical Therapy? They use the Medx technology and the Mckenzie system. I just had my first appointment last Wed, which was the evaluation and then had my first actual appointment with the physical therapy on thursday. Well they told me I would be sore for the first 2-3 weeks, then it would lessen and then I would start to feel some relief. I do not know if I like the no pain no gain approach here (not what they said, but thats what it feels like). Saturday I was in so much pain it almost ruined my plans for the evening. And still up to this morning, my lower back even hurts to the touch, like I had been beatin and it is badly bruised.

I have been through other physical therapy in the past and I perferred it much more then this new therapy, but it never brought me much relief though.

My back history:
I have 4 herniated disks, DDD, sciatica pain down my left leg, scoliosis and some mid and upper back issues starting. I currently take 6-8 darvocets,
3-4 Skelactin, 3 Lyrica and 2 Voltaren on a daily basis for my back pain. I have never had surgery for my back, nor any injections. I did go to a chiropractor for about 6 months (no relief either). I have been through physical therapy about 6 times in my life. I have had back pains since I was 8 years old, though most of the pain started when I was about 18. I had fallen when I was about 5-6 years old, and I think that is what injured my back.

My doctor had recommended this Dynamic Physical therapy or possibly a pain management specialist. He said he has has several patients go to Dynamic with much success. I can tell you that so far I do not like it at all and would rather go back to the place I went in the past, but not sure if anyone, including my insurance would give me a hard time.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much Rain
