I am still on bedrest and bored out of my skull. I see my surgeon on the 3rd and my GP on the 7th.

My surgeon will not try me on any other nerve medications because I have had reactions to elavil, neurotin, lyrica, and palemor. I asked for topomax and he said he does not perscribe that med. He does not like it. Then I asked about cymbalta and he said I don't get into perscribing all that stuff.
I am going to ask again on the 3rd and if he won't perscribe it I will email my GP and ask.

I only have 2 more days to go so I will be able to hang in there. I am just tired of it all but aren't we all?? How are you feeling?

Ya know, I'm looking at all these drugs and neurontin, lyrica and topomax are anti-convulsants. Pamelor and elavil are tricyclic anti-depressants. Cymbalta is the only one in a different drug class (anti-depressant selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor). Which one of these is not like the other? :) I really hope you can tolerate topomax or Cymbalta.

I was taking Cymbalta 30 mg for 2 years with no side effects and now that my doc upped it to 60 mg, and added neurontin, I feel like I'm taking an appetite suppressant. Not that I'm complaining, but I'm kind of nauseated and have to remind myself to eat regularly and can't get moving in the morning without my ginger snaps and tea. I've lost 10 pounds in a month! Again, not complaining -- I need to lose about 25 more, so this has been a nice kick-start for me in losing my extra weight!
