Discussions that mention methadone

Glad to hear you are feeling a little better today! Everyday will get easier Cody and mentally it will too! When I stopped methadone after 2 1/2 years the withdrawl was so horrid and I can use that word in my statement, lol now that it is over. I counted everyday I got through up until like 65 days than I lost count but that just goes to show how long it took me to recocer from that physical dependence. I did go through the percocet withdrawl back in 1998 after about 2 years of taking (2-3) 7.5's a day and that was horrible too but no comaprison to methadone. I am 31 years old now and I am taking about 10 mg of vicodin a day. I have tapered myself down from like 3 pills a day to spliting a 10 in half and taking 5mg in the morning and 5 mg in the eveing. My back is much better and now that I have been on these for 7 months I am ready to quit altogther. I think I will go down to 5mg a day for 1 week and then stop. I am tired of living a life of physically being dependant on pills. I felt sooo good the couple years here and there that I stopped. So I know it can be done and the feeling of living life with no pills is so much more "free" than you can imagine. Not having to worry about how many pills you have left, when the next appt. is, bla bla bla. It is a stupid cycle and it makes me sick I got caught up in it again and again. I would rather suffer with my back injury than be addicted to pills. That is just my opinion and my situation. I know there are many people that truely NEED them and they work for them, but for me I am over it.You should be feeling better real soon, it won't take that long. Just take vitamins, vitamins, vitamins and you will get through it and be a better person for it. Take care and have a great day! If you ever want to talk just write me. Rach
Like I alway say, I think you are doing GREAT and hang in there.

Incase anyone is wondering, it has been 37 days since my last methadone pill.
I am getting so much better every day and the wonderful thing is that I am not
craving the pills at all or thinking about them very much. It gets much easier in time.

Now I need to tackle the smoking. That has been very hard for me.
I want to quit so bad.

Hang in there !!!!!!!
