Suboxone/Subutex are meant to be taken for 10 - 14 days to taper off the street drugs primarily, like heroin, but can be used to get off pharmaceutical like Vicodin, oxycontin, etc. as well. Can also be used to get off methadone, but not an easy ride as methadone is very long acting.

Lau mentioned he GOT the sub off the streets. this is not how you should get clean and sober. You REALLY need to see a DR and do this the right way. I would not mess around with Sub that I got off the street, first of all, how do you know its really Sub? it could be something else? why wouldn't you just go to a DR and get help the right way. you could also go to a methadone clinic and get clean that way to, UNDER A DR'S care. I don't like to give advice when someone is not going through a DR on something as serious and scary as heroin wthdrawal is, I know you can die from it so why not do things right and see a DR...... a Dr will HELP you, they are not against you and you will get proper care this way, and have way less withdrawls than getting meds off the street. you have someone to call if things get hairy or you need medical help... its the right thing to do.. If you don't have insurance I am sure there are free clinics around that can help you, but please don't get it off the street, that is to dangerous and you won't be succesful getting clean this way as you need a mentor and help from A DR.. I have heard of people dying by getting drugs this way, its to scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLS don't get them this way.

I hope you and your wife can get clean together, I am rootin for you both.. its nice that you want to clean up and get off the heroin, its such a hard core scary drug to be hooked on. and I wish you both the best pls let us know how your all doing..
