[QUOTE=mkirkwood;2882791]Hi,
I was diagnosed last May and am now officially (according to my rheumatologist) nearing remission!

My ReA started in heels & ankles and progressed steadily to virtually all joints and my upper and lower back. Inflammation only occurred in ankles/heels and only for the first few weeks then never came back. Pain and stiffness continued though and I've been on Naproxen & paracetamol since.

Since Xmas I've been taking fishoil tablets with glucosamine (Sevenseas Jointcare). Don't know if they've made any difference but in the last few months most joints are pain free and no longer stiff.

An unpleasant surprise I recently discovered is it can also affect the ribs.

So, in a nutshell.... remaining joints still suffering are shoulders/upper back & ribs.

Not changed my diet as I normally eat a balanced diet and I'm 39, "normal" weight for height and prior to this have been fit & healthy.

I'm normally a confident and forthright person with a "never say die" attitude to everything but It's been a long 10 months for me and very difficult mentally as well as physically.

Hope this might help somebody out,

p.s. Planning to rejoin gym soon and will post progress.

The Naproxen I take is a 12 hour slow release painkiller which I take twice a day.

No idea what the trigger was, doctor said it could have been caused by various viral conditions, in my case probably digestive. Whatever it was, the doctor reckoned it was gone by the time I got round to going to first see him.

As I said I've had it since last May, so I've had various blood tests and xrays in that time, all clear.

I've also recently had a couple of ECG's and an echocardiogram because of the pain in my ribs/chest. That turned out OK though, no heart trouble they just reckon it's the ReA in my ribs causing the pain.
