I was an opiate, heroin, morphine, you name it addict for over twenty-five years. It took losing my whole life to finally get real and get off the stuff. This is the only way to get the victory... full and total surrender. I guarantee that not one single human-being can quit dope(of any kind) without first wanting to. There has to be a plan and a proper defense against all the temptations of our past drug affairs. They will never leave us, we must leave them! Forever.

I pray that your beloved will get real help like I did. He should seriously consider a long term residential rehab like Teen Challenge where you get well from the inside out. Not a two week band-aid rehab. All you get there are new and improved drug contacts. I speak from experience and after the price I paid I know it's worth something to another human being.

Please don't stand in the way of his recovery. If it means laying down your life with him for a while so be it. God will honor your sacrafice and return him whole to you when the time is right and his heart and mind and soul have healed. Remember he is hurting deep within. No one wants to be an addict or a junkie or enslaved to addiction. Pray for him every chance you get for protection over his life and ask God for wisdom in how to speak to him and handle him once he gets home. He is broken and he needs love and support. Addict friends who are messed up and self-centered cannot offer him anything but another downhill spiral with oxycontin if he's lucky. It could become as serious as iv drug use, heroin and all the nightmares that go with it.
I have been clean for over three years and I'm loving it!
