Discussions that mention morphine

Lung & Respiratory Disorders / COPD board

Hi I'm new here and I need a little assistance. I went into the Hospital 8/30 for a TAH (Historectomy) I was in the hospital for three days and upon leaving they put a sunck in device in my stuff and I brought it home. I didn't know anything about it but I did try it out a few times and thought I was fine. Well two days ago I started having chest pains and went to my Doctor thinking I had bronchitis and she did x-rays and determined that I did not have dronchitis and she did an EKG and my heart rate was really slow. I also had really low blood pressure she sent me to the ER and they did a cat scan for fear of a bloot clot from surgery and it showed nothing. They shot me full of morphine and sent me home with breathing instructions. They said they were leaning toward pluracy and gave me some muscle relaxors and told me to check in with my GYN who did the surgery next week sometime. I'm having more problems breathing now and feel very short of breath and my breathing actually interfearing with my sleep/rest. I feel like I've run a marathon. Please somebody tell me is there a trick to getting the chest to clear up from this maybe pluracy or do I just have to wait it out like my healing from surgery?

Please go to the emergency room. It's better to be safe than sorry.
