Discussions that mention morphine

In 1975 mine developed into a duodenal ulcer and then perforated. I had the most terrible pain I have ever had. My now ex-wife drove me to the hospital rather than waiting for an ambulance. It was 4:00 AM and it took two shots of Demeraol and a shot of Morphine just to get me oh the x-ray table. I was diagoised with a perforated ulcer and they called in a surgeon and wheeled me into surgery about 6:00. They ended up removing 60% of my stomach and some of the small intestine and hooking it all up. The procedure is called a Bill Roth II or simply a Vagotomy. The weight lose the first year was dramatic. I went from 209 to 139 pounds. I now weigh about 165.

I'm writing all of this to tell you this is nothing to fool around with. Unless you get treatment for it you can have severe problems. The doctors told my wife, if she had waited another hour, I wouldn't have made it. That's how close I came and I still have stomach problems today. My latest problems I'm dealing with is Clostridium deficile, microscopic Colitis. It's an infection of the bowels. Very hard to get rid of and I'm almost at the end of treatments that can be done.
