Back Problems board

I am going back to work on monday and I dont know what to do, my back still hurts bad, I am on morphine and vicodin just to be able to function.

I had laminectomy and fusion at L5-S1 with 4 screws and 2 rods. It was a rough recovery.

I am hoping it will get better and that going back to work is not going to hamper my recovery. My job is a desk job, not physically demanding. Just being upright for 8 hours a day is going to be a challenge.

the neuropathy symptoms are gone, shooting pain down legs, bladder and bowel problems all are better. just left with this back pain right along the incision, but deeper. It feels like bone pain, it is worse with upright position for long periods and goes away when i lie down.

neurologist wants to shoot my muscles up with lidocaine to see if its muscle, I just really dont think its muscle, it feels like bone or disc pain, like my spine is being compressed when vertical and the pressure on the discs.

I know many people are not recovered for months or years from this surgery. I feel I am being rushed. doctors never like to fill out disability forms.
