From what I've read, the best calcium channel blocker for those who need more heart-rate slowing and less BP reduction is generic verapamil.

For JUST the heart-rate lowering aspects of a drug, I don't think ANYTHING beats a weak beta-blocker...maybe propranolol in low dosage.
Or from PERSONAL experience, one nadolol twice a WEEK! (yep, I meant to type WEEK but I doubt your doctor would understand, bet palamedes will:D:D)

All the beta blockers are generic and cost only pennies.
