For 30 years I had frequent sinus headaches that felt like there was a hatchet in my head! I think half of that time I took antibiotics because that's the only thing that could get rid of the headaches. Three or four months ago I tried NasalCrom, and it works like the miracle I've been hoping for for 30 years. I only have to use it once a day or maybe twice and only when my sinuses feel like they're getting congested. I literally never get a headache anymore! I guess I was having spasms in my sinuses which would cause them to close up and cause an infection. I would like to know if any of you know when NasalCrom first became available? I would like to know how many years I've been taking antibiotics when all I needed was NasalCrom! (I know that the drug in NasalCrom has been used for asmah attacks for a long time.) Thanks! (I don't know how to spell asmah!)

Yup, a few of us have been recommending Nasalcrom for a couple years now. It really works great for my Spring Pollen Alergies. It does not do anything for my lightheaded symptoms though. I use Chloro-trimeton for those.

The wierd thing is that I mentioned Nasalcrom to my allergiest and he thought that is was too weak and was surprised it worked! - Funny Think most all of these allergiests don't have allergies. - But they know what medication gives them free trips to Hawaii each year! - Sorry I'm so cynical, but I've been dealing with these As* Holes for 10 years now :)
does anyone know if nasalcrom can be taken in ADDITION to flonase during bad flare ups/infections? i've been trying to figure that out for some time now.
I'm not sure what Nasonex is, but I tried everything over the last 32 years and the only thing that worked was antibiotics - until I discovered NasalCrom, that is. All the cortisone sprays gave me a terrible headache - just as bad as my sinus headaches, but different. NasalCrom is a drug, but it's not cortisone.
Thanks for mentioning this product. I didnt know there was a safe nasal spray otc out there, that you can use long term. This Nasonex crap Im using isnt doing anything. So Im going to try Nasalcrom tommorow.
To answer someone's question, you can use the nasalcrom with flonase if you need to without any problems. My allergist routinely recommends Nasalcrom to patients, especially pregnant patients b/c it has such a great safety record.
I asked my pharmacist and doctor about NasalCrom. They said, unlike the other sprays which are often anti-histamenes or steroids, NasalCrom is a Mast Cell Inhibitor. Which means it's supposed to reduce your nose's sensitivity to allergans. And, the best part is, it's so gentle, they recommend it to pregnant women.
