Hi, my daughters had allergic shiners. They went away once their allergies improved. My oldest daughter had the worse shiners and she had very bad inhaled allergies. Did all the allergy control of the indoor environment and got her on allergy shots and she is doing very well now. She only uses Nasonex and doesn't have any symptoms. My other daughter had some inhaled allergies and very bad food allergies and her shiners were very slight (I couln't really see them but the allergist could). So I guess to answer your questions, in our experience the inhaled allergies caused worse shiners and they improved with allergy improvement.
