Discussions that mention nexium

High & Low Blood Pressure board

FG,

Have you run across a medical text book called simply Hypertension by Kaplan? I costs about $100 although there are some cheaper used ones.

I just wonder if it is worth it. I have a dermatology medical textbook that cost $75. It is worth every penny. Saves me so many trips to the Derm. especially since there is such a wait for an appointment. I wish I had had it where my kids were home with all their rashes. My GP never knew what the rashes were anyhow.

Also, I was wondering if you took Nexium while you were still on Lebatalol? I'm pretty sure you were off of it before you started Nexium. Wonder if you would have been able to tolerate it if you had been taking Nexium. Are you going to be able to stay on Nexium? My PDR says 6 months is tops for taking it.

Hope things are going better for you this week as far as the nausea.

Fam,

there is at least one book I want to get very badly. It's very expensive. It is probably the best book on the subject in existence. I will look up the one you mentioned. Maybe it's the same one! I have a good source of books and can buy some of them at a discounted price. But only some. I check their new arrivals often. I must be one of their best customers!
If my breathing problems stemmed from the hernia or Gerd, I might be able to tolerate the Labetalol! What a thought! Thank you! I will ask my BP specialist when I see him next (at Christmastime, he said) for his opinion. I know we both like this medication. I could maybe drop the beta blocker & Hctz or something else and go back on Labetalol. I know of many people who have been on Nexium or another PPI for years - not months, but years. (from the GERD board). For me, it makes a difference between breathing normally and struggling to breathe with every exertion. It greatly reduced the nausea. It's expensive, about a dollar fifty each pill. Worth every penny.
