Discussions that mention norco

I too am allergic to morphine and yet was given Diladid which contains Morphine and Vicodin. I went into the surgeons office and she saw that I was scratching my legs with the end of my cane, I was really going at it! She gave me a prescription called Visteril, it worked great except that it knocks you out! But I was relieved of the itching for two days. I actually found a combo of drugs that seem to work for me, in the morning I take two Neurontin and two hours later 2 Norco. I found that neither of them work well enough alone and with the combo I'm able to stay up for the greater part of the day and although I still get some leg pain from the knees down, if I walk it relieves the pain or I sit and crochet which keeps my mind on what I'm doing and not on the pain. Hope you feel better, I know the itches can drive one mad! I will keep you in prayer.
Hi moldova, I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your pain. I am allergic to vicodin, methadone, and codeine, my doc had a hard time prescribing pain meds for me and especially because my pain was not relieved by anything. Funny thing is I took morphine it did not help, then oxycontin, demerol and then fentanly patches, nothing worked. But get this when I started feeling better and trying to come down off the meds she tried norco, now I did not realize it is like vicodin, strangely i did not have any reactions to it. So now I am taking 2 norco as needed and motrin 800mg, but as of a couple of days ago nothing is helping my pain, so I am at square one again. Well, I hope the find the right meds for you, take care and keep us posted.
[QUOTE=Moldova;3235577]I hope you are having a better day today!!

I was taking Percocet for 2 years now and I was OK on it. Since I am on Coumadin (blood thinner) I am not allowed to have Tylenol and Tylenol/Aspirin related meds.
They switched me to Oxicodone and I got such a reaction to it last night!!! I am sick as a dog. I just find out why: containes Codein and Morphine and I am terrible allergic to both of them.
My PM at HSS scratching his head since meds to manage the pain are all have either Tylenol or Morphine and Codein...
Does somebody had same situation as me? I don't know what to do now and how can I leave without managing the pain? And what will they do for me after the surgery instead of Morphine pump? I am so scared now!!!!:D
