Bipolar Disorder board

Klynn,

Okay don't say I didn't warn you, but you asked so here's my sad story. *lol* I've been dxd BP with severe BP Depression for 17 years. I've tried to commit suicide twice, and generally get suicidal when the depression is very bad, this is usually several times a year and my episodes last for weeks, sometimes a month or longer. I am also a Chronic Pain patient, I've had 9 knee surgeries in the last 17 years and 8 abdominal surgeries in the last 9 years. As for meds, it's a very long list, my psych meds are:
Seroquel 300 mg
Zoloft 50 mg
Topomax 75 mg
Ambien CR 12.5 mg
Sonata 10 mg
Vitamin D 1000 IU

My other meds are:
Premarin .09 mg
Singulair 10 mg
Fentanyl patch 50 mcg per 48 hrs.
Ultram 50 mg per day
Percocet and Norco as needed for pain
Multi vitamin

So as you can see, I take tons of meds and have lots of medical problems, but I've got a great team of docs that consist of a primary doc, orthopaedic, urologist, pain mgmt., psychiatrist, and psychologist. My primary, pdoc, and tdoc keep in close contact with one another and make sure all my meds play nicely with one another. As far as having someone that I trust to be with me when I have an episode, I've been married for 20 years to my high school boyfriend. So he's been with me through it all and seen me at my worst, many times, I also have 2 sons, 18 and 9, although I try not to involve them in my BP stuff too much. I am a very non-social, non-trusting, introverted person I don't use any "real people" groups, just this online one, but it helps alot. I only have a couple of close friends that I trust with my BP DX, but I know that I can call them anytime day or night and they'll be there for me, they're very special people.

Well I hope I didn't ramble on too much, and I hope you keep coming here and talking with us. I sincerely hope that your day has been more peaceful.
