Discussions that mention norco

Pain Management board

Thanks Ex, I will go and get some. Does it have the gritty taste it used to 10 years ago or is it better now. I also recall it made me really bloated, but I am going to try it again. does it come in different flavors? is it stronger than mirilax? thanks again for the info I will go and get some since this is NO FUN!

How does Avinza differ from MS Contin? I am so glad it works for you. I remember back long ago you took Norco and were trying to take as little as possible so I am glad this medication is now helping you.

No, I don't think it's gritty. It does thicken up though, so I drink it quickly. I would describe it as a thicker version of OJ or Gatorade. The taste is actually pretty good, or maybe I've become accustomed to it. But, it's certainly not bad by any means.

I get the orange flavor, but I think it also comes in rasberry or one other flavor. I would start slow, maybe one tablespoon and work up from there. You don't need much water....Maybe half a glass. As I said before, a 1/2 tablespoon one way or another can make a big difference, so give it time to work. It's not like a laxative where it's gonna kick in right away. It will work it's way through within a day or so though. Because it's pure husk fiber, it's no different than eating a bunch of apples or other high fiber foods. Excessive bloating and/or gas means you've taken too much. You may experience a little of both though just as a means of your digestive system adjusting. Again, give it time.

There are three types of LA Morphine....MsContin, Kadian, and Avinza. MS Contin is every 12 hours, Kadian is 1-2 x day, and Avinza is 1 x day. Kadian was originally marketed as 1 x, but the manufacturer has since re-rated it to 1-2 x day.

I haven't taken Norco...You must have been confused with someone else....No big deal, just wanted to let you know. I was previously on the patch, but had to change to due the heat of summer.

Take care, and good luck with your Metamucil. Be sure to report back, if you don't mind.
