Discussions that mention norvasc

High & Low Blood Pressure board

Hello Michael,

I am fine and thank you for asking. I hope you are well.

I'm taking norvasc now and my concentration is better but not perfect. What works for some may not work for someone else.

Yes, medication can interfere with concentration but there are other causes, too. Given your medical history of high blood pressure at a young age, panic attacks, and depression I still suspect the sleeping disorder, sleep apnea. [[COLOR="Red"]removed]

You've told us that you experience alot of stress in your daily life and if you have a sleeping disorder, too, then the stress becomes all the more unmanageble. I didn't have a lot of stress in my life before being diagnosed with apnea, but just looking at my unopened mail would reduce me to tears. And I avoided looking at my mail because I had no concentration--I didn't realize this at the time. Now that I'm using a little cpap machine when I sleep at night, I wake up refreshed, I don't grump at anyone, and I can tackle problems that overwhelmed me in the past. It has made a big difference in my life.

I know I'm sounding like a broken record here, but I suspect your health problems are being caused by the sleep disorder and if they are, a simple treatment could almost "cure" you.

Well, I've said enough.

Hi Bethsheba,

I know that my problem is due to stress and that is because I think all the time, you know while I'm working I do think about somethingS else. I keep thinking and thinking. I should change that.

By the way, I'm on Cardizem SR 90 (3 times daily) and my concentration and exercise tolerance has became much more better but still I can't concentrate as much as I want, due to my stressful life.
I notice that when I drink orange juice regulary I feel better :) so I do that.
Thanks for help,
Michael
