Back Problems board

I went to the ER, they did an xray and the ER doctor said it didn't look like any screws were loose or broken. So that is good news.. Now I am wondering if I need an MRI, I can't imagine why this set back is so significant...I mean ok since surgery I have lots of times where I had set backs, significant pain that did get better. But, I am telling you this seems so much worse, way different. Way worse its been eleven days of setback so far if thats what it is, and the last three went from just nerve pain to way incxreased back and hip bain where I feel like I need my brace. Every little movement is ouch, not walking or swimming nothing. Sitting makes me go through the roof.

I know I know all I am doing is whining. I am in bed rest. AGAIN.

The ER doc gave me morphine twice, which barely took the edge off. Uped my oxycontin to fourty mg twice a day and suggested I get to a pain management doctor. He said that once your surgery is over your surgeon basically moves on with other surgerys.

I don't know if I should demand a doctors appointment or go ahead with pain management, but I have got to get better, got to heal.

Feels like old times bed rest.

frustrating. I am wondering if an MRI would show more of what could possibly going on, I know it would surely put my mind to ease. i just dont' know how it could possibly just be a set back.....but I am loosing my mind.

Then the anxiety of it all gets overwhelming and scary, and ohhh just not fun days.

thanks for lsitening. hugs vette

After what I have been thru, I strongly recommend you have your General Practioner or a pm manager ready to manage you pain. My surgeon cut me off at 7 months and left me to suffer knowing I had a new problem. I would hate to see this happen to you. I am not saying it will but these last 2 weeks have opened my eyes wide open.

I am glad that the hardware looks good that is a good sign. Have they put you on a course of steroids to see if that will help you over the hump??
