Missy - Sounds like you are in the same boat. Last week my BP bounced around from 94/49 to 88/53. You are even lower. I was in the MD's office Friday, 12/8/06, for a routine cholesterol re-check and I told the doc I didn't care about my cholesterol at the moment. I have to get a handle on this lightheadededness. I felt at the end of my rope. But of course in the MD's office the white coat syndrome kicks in and I was 104/77. In any event, she said her gut feeling is that I'm overstressed/anxious. She said the vaso vagal response kicks in just like when some people get lightheaded at the sight of blood or when they get bad news or something like that. She recommends I try Paxil or Zoloft. After discussing the possible side effects of both of those, I was even more frustrated because I can't face the weight gain or sexual side effects. I'm 5'6" and 190 lbs. I ended up crying, and that really reinforced her gut feeling. I hate to cry. So then I got mad at the tears. I finally accepted the prescription, but haven't filled it yet. The appointment was a 3 ring circus and I was sorry I'd gone in the first place. I'm sure she was glad to see me leave.

BUT............... what rang familiar to me in your email. She did go ahead and schedule me for a tilt table test today (12/11/06). She reminded me I've already had almost every other test possible. (extensive blood work, MRI, blood sugar monitoring, heart, etc.) So, I'm ready to enroll with hypochondriacs of America.

So, I guess I'll put on my tough face and go back to work this morning. I'm vice president for Human Resources in a company where all the other vice presidents are men. Between having to always keep a balanced demeanor with human resource issues, trying NOT to look like an emotional "woman" with the rest of the men in the company, and making sure I can jump at my boss's slightest whim, I probably am anxious.

How about you? I pray you get through the holidays with some joy.

Omg, finally, someone else who knows exactly how I feel. I've had a ton of testing done. Blood work, heart testing, CT scans...and now I'm getting neurological testing done on January 10. My blood pressure is always around 80/60. The lowest it ever was was 74/52. My doctor says it's because I'm 5'3" and 105 lbs. I am lightheaded from the time I wake up in the morning to the time I go to bed. I'm extremely tired and I have no energy. I woke up one day in June and felt like this. The only thing that I can see that it was from was the chiropractor. I stopped going to him around the same time. I also found out that IBS can cause lightheadedness because it messes with your intestines. Have you had your potassium levels checked? Also, I recommend trying to see a neurologist. Good luck, I feel your frustration.
