Discussions that mention percocet

Back Problems board

Thats what I am scared of. I got an rx for percocets Friday, they are gone.
I called and they want me to come in at 2:15. Its about a 45 minute drive, so I hope I can stand the ride. Not sure what they will do for me. I said I was going through withdrawls and that I stopped taking the percocet becasue it was making me sick.
I really dont like the dr. I am going to see. My dr. is in surgery allday. Not sure what to do or say once I get there. I guess just that I stopped taking it becasue it was making me sick?? Its not like they will give me anything stronger, right? Urg.
Thanks all. The perc's were 5mg, 1-2 every 4-6 hours, if they do give me anything else my husband will be holding them, thats for sure!!
[QUOTE=123dietdrpepper;3567022]I hope you know that I am very concerned about you and that I do care. I actually am very concerned about the tylenol. I am praying for you and hope that all goes well at todays appt. Are you having nerve pain? Do they have you on a muscle relaxant?

Thank you for caring. It seems at time like these, noone does. Is Tynelol that bad for you? I am not sure what nerve pain is? My legs hurt, my hips hurt and my incisions hurt very bad. It hurts to walk, etc. No, they did not give me anything besides percocets when I left the hospital. I also had a follow up appt, but they didnt give me anything either. So in 3 weeks had 2 RX for percs and 2 rxs for vicodin hp. I am sorry its been 4 weeks.

Tylenol in large amounts is not good. You will probably be okay temporarily but you should never exceed 3,000 per day per FDA. My doctor likes to keep it at 2000 per day.

If you are having spasms, legs jumping, pulsing, cramping, tight muscles, you might need a muscle relaxant. It feels like a tightness in the muscle area - charley horse - temporary moment of muscle tightening.

Nerve pain can be burning, shooting pains down the leg, pricking, tingling, pins and needles, electric shocks, "bursting" or "jumping" sensations.

Hope this helps.
Stay,
hi neighbor! The only thing I can tell you: be honest. Whatever you experiece, you have to tell him/her.
I couldn't be on 5mg of Percocet, did not help my pain at all. I called right the way and they increased to 20/650 every 6 hours.
Diet is absolutely right about Tylenol, be very careful with it since it affects liver and kidney. You can't be on such massive doses as you are a day without supervision: I have to go and check my blood for liver and kidney function once in 3 month.

To keep your pain under control you need a good Pain Mgmt Dr. Can you tell me who is your surgeon since you leave in same state? Did anybody recommended a good PM DR to you? PM Dr usually is trying to keep your pain under control and monitor your medication. You will have to obey the rules and let him know if it's working or not. He may switch you to something else or adjust doses. Works very well for most of us.

Good luck to you and please let us know how did your app go.

Hello all. I am back. I really didn't have to go into detail with the PM Dr in my surgeons office. I bascially said I felt like I was withdrawling, the percocets were making me feel sick, and I just told him how frustrated I was with this whole healing process. He put me on Dialuded 4mg 1 every 8 hours. I took one when I got home, I don't feel much relief, but I don't expect to feel no pain 3 weeks post-op. 3 1/2, sorry.
So I want to thank you all for helping me out today, its great to have you all.
Moldova, Dr. Sundstom in Wayne, NJ did my surgery. I used to see a PM Dr. somewhere else, but since they have PM Dr. in house, I seen him today. I will start PT in a few weeks, then will prob. go on Suboxen to get over the opaite w/d's.
**Also, I have the medicine right to my hubby to make sure its being monitored corectly.

Thanks all. Again, I sooo appreciate it!! HUGS.
