I'm not sure if it is the same as your problem, but I used to get terrible cramps in my calves when I was trying to sleep. Someone told me to take calcium & potassium. I did, and they went away.
Extra potassium and magnesium are the way to go here.My son used to get horrid contorsions and spasms while he was in liver failure.These two things were always low on his lab sheet.once we supplimented these two minerals,everything was fine.Hope this helps.
