Creatine is not a steroid. It's not exactly "cheating" but it can help you increase your muscle/strength gains. I had a client that took creatine for a boost in the gym since he could not take any kind of stimulants due to hypertension. So, it has it's place.

I use whey and egg protein powders (ON brand) only for post workout or if I need something quick and portable.
Multi, iron free
Udo's Choice oil - not cheap, but well worth the price as it has an excellent balance of Omega 3, 6 and 9s.
Garlic oil gel-caps
r- ALA (to assist glucose transport and antioxidant)
sometimes C, zinc, potassium, cal-mag
MSM for joints, general health
Spirulina (I consider this "food")
I add dulse flakes to my lunch for the B12, also.
I'll take L-Carnitine and CLA when cutting.
That's about it, but I definitelty agree that diet should provide the bulk of the good nutrition that you need.
