Weight Loss board

Thanks for the reply to my posting chevyman.Im one of those women who cant seem to lose weight unless i drastically cut my calories. The reason im doing the 1200 a day diet is because my younger sister recommended it.She did it and lost 40 pds. When she started it she just about weighed the same as i did.No im not under a doctors supervision and i do not take any weightloss drugs. My menu for the day would go something like this,2 lg eggs with tbs mayo on 2 slices of wheat bread a cup of oj and a lg banana.I would cut out the oj and banana if i could ,but my doc told me i have low potassium levels and i need to take at least 3 servings a day of something high in potassium.Bananas and oj have a pretty good amount of potassium in them. For lunch id have a slimfast which has 10 grms of protein in it.For supper i would have a cheeseburger 18 grs protein on wheat bread with tbs mayo. When i add eveything up for the day i average bout 900 cals and 46 grms protein .Which only leaves me 300 cals to try in squeeze some more protein grams in.I was looking for a protein drink that would help me make up the difference. Ive tried different kinds of protein powders but they taste pretty yucky.I looked up the protein liquid drink you mentioned but for only 12 servings it seems kinda of pricey, compared to how many servings you get out of a protein powder container. The last time i bought protein powder it cost me 49 bucks just to get it home and findout i couldnt stomach it.That was a waste of money.Im not looking or expecting a protein shake to taste like a real shake, just taste good enough for me to get it down.Hope this answers your questions,if not ask me anything and i'll try to clarify if i can.Thanks.:blob_fire

oh your welcome ,
you might try those bullets, they taste pretty good, and come in different flavors, I like the grape, for 42 g thats not bad.
you can just buy one to see if you like them? I buy by the case save a little that way.
they are pretty expensive but so is your health!

if your doing 1200 calories daily and you don't lose the first couple weeks, just stay with it, sometimes it takes weeks to start loseing on low calorie like your doing.

I know what you mean about your body being stobborn, then theres folks out there than go low-calorie and lose like 4/6 lbs a week...not going that low.
just hang in there watch your calories/proteine/Iron/fiber, for potassium take the supplements, bananas are good source but kinda high in calories, you might add a good multi-vitamin to your diet if you haven't already.
The best of Luck to ya.
Chevyman i was thinking about potassium supplements but im alittle leery of them due to the fact that if you take too much it can cause other health problems. My doctor never did tell me how much potassium i should be consuming for my age. Thanks for your help.
I just took back the container of Iospure vanilla powder to GNC and got a refund. I bought the Ispoure Pineapple/orange/banana flavor and the apple melon flavor.

These are SO much better. It's like drinking a jolly rancher candy. The $41.99 container (that's includes my 20% off) otherwise it was $52.99

The glass individual glass bottles is what I bought today for $3.50 each. I bought the small containers so I could taste different flavors.

They contain per 20 ounce bottle:

Calcium (mg) 55mg
Sodium (as citrate) 80 mg
potassium 45 (mg)

It's made with filtered water, ion exchange whey (milk) protein isolate, aspartame and preservative free, and lactose free

I am so glad I found these. As much as I love my GNC Soy protein that has
Calories 130
protein 25
Cholesterol 0
Sodium 290
Carbs 3
sugar 0
is wheat, gluten and yeast free as has a ton of amino acids in it, I was getting a tad bit tired of the same thing after 10 years. I'll still drink the GNC one but the Isopure is a good treat. It's like having a snowball for protein drink but with out the ice. I bet if I froze it that is would be really good.
