you can try giving her more foods with potassium.... bananas and pickles are the only ones i can think of, but obviously there are many more out there! i used to get awful growing pains when i was a kid, and eating more potassium foods a day seemed to help as a preventative.... what you are doing with the massage and warm compresses is really the only thing that helped me when my legs cramped up too. good luck!
My brother had bad leg cramps when he was small. My mom treated them by having eat lots of bananas-for potassium, a flinestones vitamin and vitamin c tablets. Hope this helps.
