Fibromyalgia board

bluelakelady, I think I know where you are and it's beautiful there. I have a sister in Finley near Clear Lake. Miss that area. Used to go through there every year on my way to Mendocino to go camping at MacKerricker state Park. Anyways, boy this food thing seems to be a running theme. I'm really going to work on it because I'm about ready to call a rhumatologist(spelling wrong I'm sure) because the pain has halted my life but I know he will just prescribe drugs. Has anyone tried the Guifenesin protocal by Dr. St Amand in California (spelling his name wrong I'm sure) My sister is doing it for her fibromyalgia and is doing o.k. with it. I was diagnosed with a condition similar to Gitelman's syndrome where I have alot of potassium wasting and I'm on a drug that can't be mixed with decongestants which I believe guifenesin is.

Beth67:

I have been on the guafenesin protocol and have had very good success with this med (rarely in pain, fewer flares, etc.). In regards to Gitelman's Syndrome you are experiencing, you would have to ask your treating physician if this med would be tolerated. Guafenesin may interfere with your medication protocol.

Bye!
