Discussions that mention prednisone

If any of the treatments you underwent for Hodgkins are predisposing factors for avascular necrosis, then yes, both hips were predisposed and it wouldn't be terribly surprising that it would develop on both sides. I know that steroids (the medical kind, like prednisone) are a predisposing factor. But if you weren't exposed to anything that would increase your risk, then it was probably just a freak occurrence and won'toccur on the other side. On the bright side, if you have to get another hip replaced, you know what mistakes the doctors made before so it should just be a one-time thing!
