Asthma board

ok this is going to sound gross.. but when i get an asthma attack instead of feeling hugely short of breath, i get a wheezing thing going on, and also TONS of phlegm, and despite all my medications it seems to happen at least three or four times a week. I was on advair but kept getting throat infections and streppe, so now am using some other med, forget the name; as well as singulair and proventil. I also have had bronchitis and pneumonia 4 times in the past year. My asthma only started after i was traveling and caught very bad bronchitis, was in the hospital for 2 weeks.. then ever since then for the past two years i feel it constantly, yet have an otherwise healthy immune system.. does anyone have any advice for something else i could try. The one good thing is that exercise seems to help it not make it worse.

I get the same problem with mucus, but also get very short of breath. Have they tried putting you on atrovent?

Have you been tested for allergies? Have you ever smoked?

(Sorry I'm asking so many questions...)
Have you actually had your blood tested to check for immune deficiencies?

Ever have a sweat test? Do you have any family history of cystic fibrosis?

Ever have a cat scan of your sinuses?
