I would love to get off the prozac. I am 42 and was absolutly clueless on what was happening to me. Starting at 41, I started the peri symptoms. Finally, a friend of mine told me about peri-menopause. I thought I was losing my mind! I had no idea my body would begin to wind down before the "end". I have only known this for about a month of two.
This where I am right now, knowing I am peri. I see my obgyn in March for my annual. I am trying different supplements to see what works for me.
1-calsium and magnisium(1000/500) have helped stomach palpatations and the heart racing.
2-trying get more soy into diet for hot/cold flashes.
3-prozac has helped depression and anxiety, would rather go natural supplements(any ideas?)
4-trying maca, no idea if it is helping at this point.
5-valarian for occasional insomnia.
I heard some negative things about black cohash. Is that true?
I have a book on peri, and she doesnt recommend a soy supplement. So I have yet to buy one.
I will be sure to share any supplements that have a positive effect on this board.
